Our mechanical workshop is equipped with Lathes with all cutting tools, Milling machine, slotting Machine, Shaper machine, Arc welding machine, Gas welding equipment, Spot, Mig, Tig Welding equipment, Forging anvils, Carpentry benches with vices and all carpentry tools, Fitting benches with all tools and vices, , Power saw machine, Pillar drilling machine, Bench Grinder machine. Also, we have a separate lab for foundry practice demonstrations. Workshop includes fundamental engineering training for all courses. This Workshop can accommodate about 30 students at a time in each half. The experiments are designed to expose students to the practical executions of the fundamental theories of engineering workshop.
Workshop training is composed of:
Outcomes
Engineering Drawing is the Language of Engineers. These drawings are representations of the final design. The design is a well trade-off between Shape, Materials, and Manufacturing. Therefore, students are taught to make and interpret the formal Engineering Drawing. They are trained in manual drafting in well-equipped Drawing Class Room as well as in AutoCAD Lab (Automatic Computer Aided Drafting/Design). Engineering Graphics Laboratory includes both board drawing and CAD drawing. This lab can accommodate about 30 students at a time in each half. The experiments are designed to expose students to the practical executions of the fundamental theories of graphics. Infrastructural facility: The graphics laboratory is equipped with 30 drawing board tables and computers equipped with AUTOCAD. The students learn about projection of points, lines, surfaces, and regular solids, combination of regular solids, floor plans, isometric projections, sections and sectional views of right angular solids in the board drawing training. In the cad drawing they learn about different annotations, layering & other functions. The students also perform a mini project on AUTOCAD.
Outcome:
The sole significance of Engineering Drawing is to represent the three-dimensional object in two-dimensional way. After learning Engineering Drawing, students will be capable,
Basic Electrical Engineering Laboratory includes core course of all engineering. This lab can accommodate about 30 students at a time in each half. The lab has 15 fully equipped setup benches to carry out numerous fundamental experiments in Electrical Engineering. The experiments are designed to expose students to the practical executions of the fundamental theories of Electrical Engineering.
Some of the experiments carried out in this lab as a part of MAKAUT 1st Year curriculum are:
single phase transformers, 3-phase power measurement, theorems of electrical engineering, characteristics of different lamps, testing of energy meter, transient & steady state of RLC circuits, AC/DC motors coupled with generators, speed control and their characteristics , and single phase motors.
Infrastructural facility:
Each experimental bench is equipped with variable AC and DC power supplies with adequate protections, which enables students to carry out the experiments in an electrically safe environment. The lab is equipped with energy meters, power factor meters, wattmeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, voltmeters, ammeters, various size and type of transformers, various types and sizes of AC and DC motors.
Outcome:
Students will attain an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret reading/data. Students will also be able to: Use breadboards to assemble circuits. Set up power supplies, digital multimeters, function generators and oscilloscopes to activate circuits and to determine circuit quantities.
The Department of Physics have well-furnished two undergraduate physics laboratories under the courses BS PH101, PH101, PH201, PH301 & PH401. A total of 60 experimental set-ups are available in the laboratory from the areas of Mechanics, Acoustics, Heat, Electricity and Magnetism, LASER, Semiconductor and Optics. Physics Laboratory also has two large separate dark rooms for the optical experiments. The department also offers comprehensive hands-on practice to the students to carry out improvised and innovative projects using Arduino Uno Kit.
NITMAS have two well equipped chemistry laboratories especially designed as per MAKAUT 1st year course curriculum. First one is mainly assigned for water and inorganic chemical testing and the second one is basically for oil and organic chemical testing. We ensure 1:1 student accessibility towards laboratory experiment so as to enable them to have true hands on experience.
Major equipments are:
Hot Air Oven, Digital Balance, Digital Conductivity Meter, Digital pH Meter, Water Testing Kit, Water Bath, Rotary Shaker, Dean & Starck Apparatus, Viscometry Bath, Cleaveland Open Cup Flash Point Apparatus, Pensky Martens Closed Cup Flash Point Appatatus, Muffle Furance, Magnetic stirrer, Refrigerator, Digital Conductivity –TDS Meter, Digital turbidity Meter, High Vacuum Pumps, Fume Hood Arrangement.
The Neotia Institute of Technology Management & Science (NITMAS) houses a full-fledged Language Laboratory (designed by CACM-ISIL, IIT-KGP) to expose students to a variety of learner friendly modes of English language learning. The unique barrier-free interactive language-communication lab has multimedia based digital content delivered through an interface which is run by the Interactive Software Integrated Learning System (ISILS). The multimedia content is the key to generate and enhance the intra-personal and inter-personal skills of students. Through a wide array of activities the English ‘speaking’ and ‘listening skills’ of students are honed using Language Lab Audio–Visual inputs. The lab is intended to strongly develop the English communication skills of our students through effective training, to promote excellence, to use language effectively in social, professional and academic settings, to prepare them for job interviews, to help them internalize the basic principles of group discussions such as turn-taking, creative intervention, correct body language, courtesies, soft skills and to hone their public speaking skills through various seminars and presentations. The activities in the language lab aim at a holistic skill development of students raising their bar of confidence, developing in them the ability to express themselves with élan and in the process transforming our students to young professionals thereby making them ‘employable and job ready’.
